mystery switch solved...not solved

I tracked the wire from the back of my mystery dash switch (just left of the steering wheel), to this: Panasonic thing, mounted under the passenger side of the truck. WTF?

what is this thing?

That looks just like the 'National' Claxon for the s***ty alarm system on my old 60.

It is an 8 ohm speaker. With fur.

Hello,

It looks like a bullhorn/alarm claxon mix. With fur.

Probably the PO liked to announce himself in a loud way.

Quite likely, deleting it will not hurt.

Take the chance to get rid of all the non-OEM wiring behind the dash.
