My first out on a trip to the boondocks. Around 300 kilometers round trip. Got a lot of minor problems but I guess manageable.

After sometime, really trying out on different terrains, I finally came to a conclusion that I have to open up the transfer case and both front and rear differential. The following pics will be based on the taking down of the whole transmission, disassembly, assembly and back to installation.
Differential will follow.

The rear propeller shaft is a little off and needs to be aligned.

All universal joints are in good condition.

I fabricated a carrier for the transmission that will go on top of my 3 ton crocodile jack since I don't have a transmission jack.

Looks like there was water intrusion in your t-case/tranny combo. Good thing u services them. I took a light and looked inside mine and looks clean inside but I know my seal is bad allowing oil to migrate. Should have done the rebuild when I had the whole thing out of the truck. I'm inpatient, never seem to learn, lol.

I guess too, grease' color looks like mud. Anyway, I still need to install the modified transfer case input gear as the spline of the transmission output shaft is worn out and gives out a lot of play. Good thing is I do not have to take down the transmission but only the transfer case. Yes, I should've done the rebuild while I was doing the restoration.:cheers::bounce2:

Below is the picture of the worn spline.

Both pics below show the modified transfer case input gear. The elimination of the spacer and replaced with a gear that combined the input gear and spacer together. Saved a lot of time in the rebuild as it didn't require the removal of the transmission output shaft to be removed.

Meantime, I got the front differential down and found out the side gears had a lot of play. I had some used side thrust washers and solved the problem. Also found out that my front is a Limited Slip Differential. Is this a norm or an upgrade?
