Sunroof shims?!

I've read some posts and saw a reference in the FSM about adjusting the height of the sunroof by inserting more sunroof shims between the bracket and sliding roof. Mine looks like the glass is sunk below the level of the roof line (about 1/8'' approx).

Has anyone done that - can these shims be ordered from CDan or Beno?!

I used plain old washers, and it worked fine. One washer was just right. Two washers raised the sunroof a lot more than I expected and was too much.

There are 6 studs on the sunroof and I put one washer on each. I flirted with the idea of just raising the front, but worried about putting too much stress on the glass by making it uneven on the mounting.

Thx Hoosier - just ordered some parts to (hopefully) fix my sunroof woes - if not, I'm going to seal it shut with polyurethane... :)

We have had some rain and snow lately, so I checked my carpet--damp. Looks like this is a common problem!

Unfortunately, I think it is a common problem - here is what I did so far in my own fight:
1) I cleaned the drains with a garage-door braided steel cable - that helped some but not 100%

2) Next, I pulled off the head liner in the corner and peaked under there - saw water flooding in there under a garden-hose heavy spray.

3) Replaced the cable dust covers (plastic trim pieced in the front corners) - both were warped from heat and tended to divert the water in the wrong direction (into the cabin).

4) Fixed the gasket that fits around the sunroof glass - I used the bike tire patch kit: trimmed to size and used rubber cement to fix it in place.

5) I've got shims and plan on raising the sunroof glass just a touch to even out the plane (seems like it's sagging about 2mm)

Then I'm going to run the final 'hose test' on it - if that don't work - I'm going to permanently seal it up with exterior grade window/siding silicone caulk

I had one of those mystery parts in my sunroof track to. I bought the car used and I can see in the paint the outline of where the wind deflector used to be. I had a leak like what has been mentioned. I had a local glass company come and re-seal my windshield, no more leaks...fancy that!
