My simple request to Toyota Canada

Toyota does make some exciting cars. They just don't sell them in North America, or they call them Lexus.

I've heard that manual window cranks are more expensive to manufacture than electric ones nowadays, soon they won't be available anymore...

Usually the window regulator (the mechanism which lowers and raises the window) is the the culprit. The motors seem to go for ever. Yes, switches get dirty and sometimes wear out. The little gearing mechanism which connects to the motor or hand crank is what usually breaks. In many cases this can be welded. If not, you are better off with an OEM regulator than aftermarket.

Why would Toyota listen to us?We're only the people that keep thier legend alive.I guess they don't understand that there will come a point in time, maybe not our generation but the next when parts will be come impossable to come by and the legend will fade.If they don't come up with something new that interests us and that we would love to keep going then the people who have bougthen the new and improved J#@p will carry on.Then the tourch and more importantly to them the money will be passed on to a differant company.

isnt it strange that since the yanks imposed the kyoto protocol on emissions on japanese diesels a few years ago so the japanese cannot make diesel vehicles anymore, at the same time the yanks are making more diesels than ever it seems. almost all the new ford ads are diesels. mmm protectionism at its best i think!
my HDJ81 gets better fuel economy than a new escape hybrid!!!!!!!!! what a P.O.S. american vehicles suck!

Well that isn't surprising. One of Toyota's mission goals is precisely to fit in the country's system. It's part of their mission statement! Not surprising we don't get the good stuff here. It would ruffle what feathers the battered North American Auto Industry has left. Just look at what the CCMTA and Transport Canada is trying to do here, shutting the door even more to the most desirable models they've made and that are available in many countries including most third world countries.

Remember Free Trade means trading between the big North American industries, nothing else. The consumer was never considered. If there was really such a thing, the big 3 would soon shut down for good.

People who believe they are getting a Toyota when they buy that sedan or that pickup are just deluded. They are simply buying a Canadian (or American) car built from a watered down (ahem, 'adapted to our market') japanese design, probably produced and marketed even by former GM, Ford and Chrysler employees with the value system they came with...

Perhaps if Toyota considered what we wanted the "Big 3" would be FORCED to get their act together and manufacturing in North America would improve instead of getting outsourced!

Trouble is, there aren't enough people complaining. We're too civilized, too eager to obey those who govern us, it would be too un-Canadian to complain and present our dolences to our 'cousins down south', I guess.

Personally I don't care if I'm branded a chronic complainer, that I should look in my yard before stirring up trouble, fine then, but I still won't accept that for this reason I should shut up, keep quiet and accept blindly what I'm being told to believe.

As for Americans, the problem is they only see themselves and can't believe there are other and, God Forbid!, better ways to do things and that they are not the best in the world anymore. It's a society in decline. My wife was probably the first to agree with me on that.

I know that in Central America you couldn't give away a domestic vehicle!! Most of the teachers that are at the school I work at like domestics and are pleased to be able to buy them easily, I kind of chuckle when the selling doesn't go so easily!

No one wants a domestic car there, they all want imports and Toyota is the top choice and preferably with a diesel engine! I could sell my truck easily but then I'd need to come back here to the land of the deprived and try and find something worth driving!!
