What is that a karaoke machine. :hillbilly:
Maybe you can weld Milo's bumper kit, surely that will do 1/4" on a single pass. lol

BTW, by all accounts, sliders on an 80 for some years are difficult from scratch. To save a few $ you may want to get some pre-cut/bent in kit form. That's what I did with Redline.

How about that Justin, two posts and two plugs...

Now you will be checking out the side of the road for scap metal to practice on. There is a pretty good book at Lowes about welding. It isn't hard you just need a little instruction and then lots of practice.

And dumpster diving in scrap metal dumpsters...done it many times

You want to run a separate circuit for your welder. Have a plug put in your garage. Luke will tell you how you should have done it after you burn down your garage. I would not add a longer cord or an extension cord to the input. Use more welding lead on the output to get your distance.

I would look around for a bed frame that someone is throwing away. There is a lot of good angle iron in them and you can make a pretty good base for a welding table as you practice. There are a lot of bed frames in the Goodwill and Salvation army dumptsers. Get yourself a good angle grinder (4 or 4 1/5 inch wheel) to do the surface prep and cleanup. Use eye protection at all times or you can go blind.

As for the grinder choice I think the 4 1/2" is a better choice because the grinding wheels are more common. Walmart has 4 1/2" grinding wheels but does not carry 4" grinding wheels.

But then its best to have one of each. I have both of my grinders out all the time. I run a grinding wheel in one and either a lap wheel or a cut off wheel in the other. Plasma is always close by as well. Chop saw is always under the bench.

Watch out for the rags laying around because sometimes they can start them on fire. :hillbilly:

I use the old harbor freight 20 dollar grinders. I have three out all the time  One with a wire wheel, one with a flap wheel sanding disk, and one with a standard grinder wheel. They hold up pretty well, and come with and extra set of brushes. two of mine are all duct taped together from falling off bumpers and having stuff dropped on them, and they still work great.
