love my 80 series but always wanted a buggy for that occasional hard core itch...
well, this fits in my budget much better! :grinpimp::cool:

It's a Losi CC with a hand made roll cage (not very well made, going to redo it soon), upgraded motor (can't remember the name) and a few goodies.

I was so lucky to have this amazing spot for my first crawl with my new rig!

This thing is just like another cruiser..... getting expensive fast! Just ordered the Novak Goat 3S brushless system for it! Can't wait!

Let us know how that goes. Mrbryan has a brushless and it was not smooth. I'd be interested to find out if it's just his.

I have been reading for weeks on all the crawler boards about this decision. The problem i have now is a have a huge brushed motor in my Losi that is eating batteries (10 minutes of play time)and overheating my ESC.

With all the research i have done, it seems that over 90% of the guys with Losi CC or Losi NC run a brushless system. Even the guys from Losi say that the worm drive was designed for a brushless system.

Oh, right. You got a Losi. Those do work better with a brushless. Those worm gears are hard on brushed.

Yeah they seem to work well/easier in losi's but Ive read that the brushless dont have as much "low speed torque" so bryans always shuddered in his axial really bad regardless of the battery size (2s/3s), C, or quality. I know he wants to sell his and prolly get a rooster or something.

OH yeah you got a losi. :flipoff2: bwaha.

I have to admit I do like it, esp the bug body. The worm gears seem to have superior engine/gear breaking. And now with the new motor on the way I might have to hit the hobby shop soon. :D
Still diggin my Axial but itching to build a custom chasis.

dinkin round by the river today

I am thinking i may want to put some thicker shock oil in the rear shocks. Seems on my climbs the rear is squatting a little and it unloads the front.

I keep busting the pin that fits in the CV joint on the front axles. Kind of like busting a birfield! Only thing i can think to do is drill it out and put a larger pin in it. :bang::hillbilly::wrench:

I busted one of those, put a clipped off body pin it the hole for a trail fix and never busted another.

I actually did that too and busted that! :o I have a set of the long pins that will fit through both body mounts and had a lot left over... so i cut a piece of it and used it. Worked for a few days and then pop!

I guess i just wheel it like a mad man!

busted two more pins! WTF??!! I tried to drill out the "bell" so i could use a different pin, but it's going to take a drill press. That is some hard steel!

Frustrating! I have a new outter with a pin and retainer clip on the way; should be here tomorrow.

Hopefully a new piece will fix the problem.

Alex, I'm sure you know by now, KC Hobby is just down the street from you on Main Street in Archdale. Might save you some $ on shipping if you are sourcing parts from the web.

Yea, i went there and they really don't have any parts for crawlers. I have been going to Matt's hobby store off Business 85 but he doesn't have much for crawlers either. :o

I'm thinking you must be binding somewhere. Maybe the tire is binding on a shock or link under certain conditions?

I have noticed that when climbing and at full turn, i can rub a tire on the shock. I have been able to notice that and turn away to stop the bind. Most of the broken pins have come from straight climbs or backing out of something.

Just got a new stub axle with pin and retainer clip so let's see if this makes a difference.

Also, anyone know what size rod ends the Losi uses? I would like to order metal rod ends but they come in a bunch of sizes.

damn this thing!! lol, not really....

Ordered a new outer front axle to replace the one that i keep breaking pins on. Well it came and it doesn't fit over the axle! The new one is smaller than the old one! I guess the PO upgraded the axles or maybe these newer designed axles are an upgrade. At any rate i have a new outer end with a new pin and retaining clip that is just sitting there.

so as the madness continues i ordered an entire new set of front axles with outers, pins and retainer clips; and i figured while i was at it i will upgrade the carrier and the spindle with aluminum ones!!

These things are like cruisers!

2 cell lipos and a brushed motor are your friend. Its the 22re of wheeling. Slow and steady and you can keep wheeling long after your friends have broke and/or burned up their batts.

OK, question for you guys....

I have upgraded (a while ago) my ESC and motor to a novak goat 3s system. It's designed to run either 3cell or 2 cell lipo. I have been running 1000 mah 2 cell since i have two of them and they run great. Picked up a 1300mah 3 cell over the weekend. Tossed it in.

re-reading the instructions for setup on the brushless system just to make sure everything is correct and it does not say to run the BEC, so i haven't been. Never have run the BEC. Never had a problem with the setup ever.

Until last night when i put the 3cell in. Was messing around with it in the house and after just a few minutes if i use the front dig, the lights on the ESC will flicker (all of them) and it just stops running. The steering will turn but it will not move forward or backwards. It will not clear until i pick the rig up off the ground. It's almost like there is the slightest tension on the steering and it will not completely un-bind until i pick it up off the floor. Once i do that, the lights will stop flickering and it works.

Just took it outside and it didn't do it at all. Ran the entire 3cell, came in charged and put it back in and it did it about 4 times.

Any clue? I looked at the manual and it has warning if certain lights "flash" like motor or ESC overheating. My lights don't "flash" they flicker. And, just two of the lights will "flash" if there is an overheating problem, not all of them. Also reached and touched the motor and ESC and both are cool to the touch... well, the motor is warm but not hot at all.
