Huh, I never even thought of that. I nearly went spring over myself. I would love to do a cut and turn on my spring under axle. I made custom spring mounts and ended up with about 8* of shims to get my caster correct. That left the pinion pointing lower than I like.

Pretty sure that's a ruffstuff cover, the fill plug is probably moved up to account for rotating the pinion up.

Why not just recenter the hummer rims? Correct BS and can easily be 6 lug..

I could do that. Hummer rims with 2" spacer is basically zero offset so I can always go that route or any other zero offset 6 bolt wheel. For now I'll test my luck with the spacers.

Two pictures to complete this thread. I'm happy with the result and it compliments my custom width FJ80 rear axle with elocker, FJ40 backing plates, FJ80 calipers and FJCruiser rotors. E-brake moved to split case. HJ60 diesel under the hood. Frame and tub stretched 6" to accommodate HJ60 auto transmission. Front saginaw and 8274 and rear warn winch. FJ80 third row seats fit to the rear but not in photo. Family rollcage underway. Lots left but having lots of fun.
