The Troopy did very well! The only thing I feel could be better is the tires. Not that the tires are the problem, but the size would be better if they where a little more narrow. I am thinking og 33x10.5x15 and All Terrain instead. We do drive on road most of the time and I really believe that AT tires would do the job offered also. I might consider putting a turbo on the engine also - it would help getting up those steep hills :)

I've owned two hJ47's; while the more narrow 33x10.5 15 will help some, the turbo would remedy the issue. If you're ever down in Bavaria Germany, look me up. Likewise, I'm sure we'll venture north to Denmark while stationed in Europe.

12HT is not the way for me. Impossible to find in good condition here in Denmark and they cost 10 times the price compared to a 2H. I have heard from a lot of experienced guys that a turbocharged 2H will perform very well and in some aspects better than a 12ht. But I can't say for sure.

To bad you're in Denmark. I have a very fresh 12ht for sale ;)

But you're probably right. A wel build 2H will be a big improvement too.

Hi everyone - back from the dead!

My HJ45s is put away during the winter here in Denmark with a lot a rain and salt!

But just purchased a new project - HZJ75. I am looking forward to build it up again. I have made a new tread in the 70´s section :)

In about a month I will properly get my 45s back on the road and do some wheeling :)

Take care everybody

Just returned from a very nice Spring trip in the Cruiser! It is amazing feeling to drive the car again after the winter time.

G'day Jesper,

Thanks for all the posts you contribute to Mud. The HJ45 is my inspiration and the insights into your life in Denmark are great. I was thinking about trying to track down a set of Michellin tires the same as yours. I see them on Landcovers but not often on Toyotas. Are they wearing well? Cheers,

Ben
