I am modifying the adapters for my rear tube bumper before putting it back on. Need to be able to adjust it a little more.

I like your 4Runner build. Great progress... I'm building my '94 4Runner with 416 Unimog portal axles, but I am not moving nearly as quickly with my build as you are. Here is a link to my build-up:

Cheers!

How will the diesel like that low of a gear ratio (5.99)??

It works great with the 5,29s now, I think it will be all good.

Thanks, been following your build on pirate. Much more complicated than mine  I will do my portal swap on tuesday... :p At least I hope so, it should at least be back on the ground with the axles bolted up and wheels on.

I hope to get it driveable before friday, since I am unable to work on it for 3 weeks then...

more to do tomorrow...

Looks great but put some U bolts on those axles. Grade 8 bolts will break eventually if you run it hard. You haven't flipped the bolts so the heads on the bottom to maximize ground clearance so u-bolts won't be any different than what you have now.

Thanks for the advice, don`t think I will modify these after testing it. Got lots to do and little time... Flipping the bolts wouldn't have fit...

Well... I can tear down a 22r from previous running condition in less than an hour. All the way to the block. I can build it from the block up in 3hours. Installed in 5. Running in 6. And I can change oil, rebuild axles... Certified welder (BTW- That stringer bead lacks... Weave is where its at.) And I can make cool s*** out of broken car parts. Ask wristy.

that's the badest 4runner ever

one of the guys i ride with had 47" ltbs and hated them, couldn't get up a lot of stuff, he traded with a guy that had 49" iroks and he loves them s***s man...

I cant beleive your diff sets above your springs... thats amazing

Its a bit tight between the front vacuum clock and the frame rail, but I think it will be OK.

Will try them, hope I love them! Actually I bought a used set of 39,5 iroks on beadlocks today... So now I have something to swap to if I want...

Connected front driveshaft and all the brakes today.

Figured out lots of things to, need to get some work done tomorrow.

Looking great. Nice work. !! I would give thought to some U bolts too.....
Is the below picture of the brake lines or a locker line ???
It looks like copper tubing. Just hope it is not a copper brake line......they don't work too well.

I don`t have the original u-bolts. And nobody makes custom ones. Also the stock portal placement for leaf springs is not placed correctly to be bolt on, and finally the portals I have have been customized for a different project so most of mounts were cut of. So until I link them, I will use these bolts... ;) Thanks for the advice though!

The brake lines are about 3" long, and copper. Its easier to make, and have worked well for me in the past. I will have to redo everything when my disc brake kit arrives, so it will have to do. Also I made custom brake lines with toyota bolts in one end and volvo in the other. Will probably redo the main lines on the rear axle today. Just to make sure I have no issues, the steel lines have seen better days. And to clarify, it is temporary until the disc brake kit arrives.

I think I have solved most issues in my mind now, we will see how things evolve.

I have to swap to shorter shocks in the front, down to 10" travel. I will lose some up travel due to the sua solution. The full drop will be about the same even with shorter shocks.

If I am lucky I will have full steering today, and brakes. Even 4wd... Not sure about shocks though or bump stops...

I need an electric vakuum pump? Anyone no of a car model which has? Or give me a heads up for one?

Thanks! :)

Well I hope the copper lines are real temporary.

A friend of mine was running copper brake lines on a car years ago and one split open.....had a nasty crash as a result....he is lucky to be alive....
Copper brake lines are not legal for street use here in the US.

I am sure you know that brake lines need to be double flaired too.
It takes a special flairing tool for that.....I have one.
Not that hard to use.......just practice on a few flairs before making the real lines.

Good luck and be careful !!!!!!!!

loaned some stock rims for a C303... now it is 2" inside the flares. Looks good. Also, the height has dropped about 2,5" due to sua. I like it.

Needs to get some parts made, and parts ordered and delivered. Good thing I have to no time for it the next 3 weeks.
