Thanks for sharing, that driver must have forearms like Popeye from all the shifting or did that one run an auto? Very cool.

That truck has an Automated Manual Transmission based electric powertrain designed by yours truly so all shifting is handled by the powertrain controller.

Is the weight of the batteries an issue or loosing the weight of the motor offset that?

It's an issue but not too bad. The tractor weighs about as much as a mid sized sleeper cab tractor so one would lose 3-4k lb of combined payload vs just a simple day cab tractor. From a handling standpoint, having the weight mounted so low made the trucks handle the corners quite well.
