Yes , you are right .Interesting trick for using the IFS hubs. I have seen people use different calipers and rotors or place the calipers on the front of the mounting ears but this is yet another pretty slick way to re-use the IFS rotor and make it work.
OK, just so I have the general idea, Toyota motor, Chevy Trans, Toy t-case, Toy axles and LR body and frame?

Thanks for the info, I had few solid axle trucks and now I know what you are saiying.as far as the steering goes, it looks like it'll come down to what you have room for. toy truck axles have a push/pull so the pitman arm goes turns front/back. and doesnt require a lot of room
most people opt to go crossover over steering with an IFS steering box, but you have to run a lift with this so the tie-rods dont hit the leaf springs
cool project! theres a slightly easier way of using ifs hubs on a solid axle without having to use a spacer. if you end up having problems anyway.

Those headlights are junk, I will nead new ones later, but you are right they are not installed correctly, Good eyes thanksI may be wrong, but if memory serves me on those old sealed beams, I think you may have your headlights turned 90deg. There should be a "TOP" in the lens, just to make sure.
Thanks , I normally like the fj40, but I give up fixing the body on my 40 and I am trying my luck with the aliminum LR.Cool project, I like those old LR's.
