First day was Gold Bar rim, second day was porcupine rim and third day was Fins and things.

Were you on the Saturday run that took forever and got home late? I think Dave from Prince George was on that one..did you met him and his wife? They are nice folk. I hope to do some local runs with them this year.

No I didn't get to meet up with them eather.:frown: I think next year we will have to have a Canadian Check-in:beer:

cliffhanger looks scary.... the rim runs I did test your nerve overlooking some steep edges, while off camber towards them..

it's off a shuttle bus. Made by Rock Alta trailers in Calgary. I had to cut it down to size and have it welded. It sits on Quick n easy mounts.

Search my name in the 60 series section to read about it. I posted a couple pics in there.

I had about 1000 lbs of gear up on my holiday. It was damm heavy. The rack held it fine. Truck even handled the weight well too.

I bought the rack for 400 bucks used. Paid 250 to have it sized for the roof. And 150 for the mounts.

If you buy the mounts only you could weld up a nice rack using 3/4 or 1 inch square steel. Although I like mine being alum and also having the closed in ends. It's also quiet on the road.

Search the calgary craigslist for these racks. They are everywhere out there. Worth the drive IMOP. Maybe get Lowenbrau to pick it up for yah and then go out for river shiver etc or a camping trip and get it,

I don't think I will be doing it again... the 2000 foot drop was not the scary part it was the line you had to take to get out was right aganst the cliff. I was sure I was going to take out the drivers side.

Gold Bar is a fun trail. It was my introduction to Moab last year. Did you get any photos of the truck on Posser Rock?

It is a compleatly different type of wheeling then we have up here and it can pushes you way out of your comfort zone:D. The photos don't even come close to showing how imposible some of the obsticals look first hand. It has me coming back for more:grinpimp:

The porcupine rims is the true poser shot at the climax of the trail end. I was too scared to drive out on the end. Way past my comfort zone. Too many images of my kids plummeting off the cliff in the truck...LOL Also I surveyed the rock and was a little concerned about the crack you drive out over to get the picture. It was basically a half sheer on the side of the cliff. Sorry not for me. :)

Gold bar was great. But it was my first day. SO like your first time in sex you miss all the good times due to excitement and fear..... The butt scratcher was the highlight for me. I love that kinda s***.

yah I had a crazy camp..... 3 children under the age of 3.5 yrs all in a tent trailer. So many nights we needed to call it early to get them settled. Lots of cries and drama. By week 5 on the road they were perfect....go figure.

wow..im impressed BB. you lugged your 3 very young kids on a 5 week road trip? what was the secret? i definitely want to do CM09...but not sure if i should bring all 3 kids. the youngest should be about 1 year old by then...

Bring em. There were lots of kids tagging along. we were not the only ones doing the trails with babies on board. The kids loved the bumpy ride, rocking and rolling side to side. In fact many times they fell asleep.

But the secret is.....DVD. We took 20 or more videos with us and the kids had snacks and watched movies. The youngest was 10 months or so, so he was rear facing in the middle looking at the other two for entertainment. The Dog also came for the ride too :)

The trick when your driving is to start bloody early. We typically lifted the kids out of bed and stuck them in the truck with a dvd playing. Then we stopped for food and bum cleaning in 3 hrs time, after going a good distance already. We also made sure to stop at lots of parks for a play. That would refresh them enough to endure more movies and snacks.

We also found we needed to end the day of driving at 3pm. That gave them time for more of a play while set up camp. Then we would cook dinner and eat. Then pajama time, with another dvd....LOL and they would go to bed. Then I would sit outside enjoying a glass or three of vino.

We also found it works better on the kids to alternate traveling days. So pick a good destination then check it out for day.

Sounds like my camping/ wheeling trips. :)
