Well the rest of you wear out wheeling this past weekend I was at home uploading photos and attempting to remove some of the sand from my truck, I still have not decided which I hate more Mud or Dust (sand).

This year’s trek took me Throw Yakima WA, Bend OR, Burns OR, Great Basin N.P., Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument UT, Bullfrog UT, Blanding UT, Monticello UT, Moab UT, Chinle AZ, Cottonwood AZ, Hover Dam AZ/NV, Lake Tahoe CA, Eagle lake CA, Home on mostly secondary highways or less. 18 days, 6986 Km, 5 States and one province. We had hail, sleet, rain and below frizzing temperatures until we hit southern Utah.

I meet up with the Copper State Cruiser in Blanding Saturday night and got caught up over dinner. Sunday was a great day on the trail. Hotel Rock is a must do if you are in the area. Late Sunday night we were also joined by the Semlin family. Monday we had fun pulling a few trucks out of the mud on route to beef basin and elephant hill. Tuesday was rematch day for my trailer on Lockheart Basin, the score is Drew 0, Lockhart 2.Another must do.

Wednesday, we all went throw tech and registered. There was a lot of take about going out on a run but in the end we spent the day gabbing.

Thursday (Day 1 of CM), was the FJ Cruiser Cliffhanger run with the trail team, a film crew, a team of photographers and reporters. What a trail or lack of…

Friday (Day 2 of CM), Fins and Things, was led by Robbie in the trail team FJ Cruiser and I was quickly sent to the back of the line as tail gunner (I think he was just trying to split Jim and I up:)

Saturday (Day 3 of CM), Poison Spider Mesa, Another fun day I don’t think anyone followed my line after this.

Well I’m out of time for now, so here is the link to those photos Collection: Cruise Moab 2008 Trip

I never got to met you, or others... I was there too.

I just got home a couple days ago. I was on the road 5 weeks and drove 12,500 kms total on my Moab trip. I made it across the states popped up in Ontario and came back here to Smithers. I already miss the road.....

wondering how much you spent in fuel :frown:

It was in my BJ60 not a 3fe guzzler... My 80 would have killed me in fuel. As it was I spent probably 2500-3000 in fuel. I looked at it like plane tickets for a family of 5 to go on holiday.

I walked by your camp a few times but didn't see you there. Sounds like quite the trip. How do's it feel to have the Iron Butt? I was glad to hand the title over:). Hope to see you down there next year.

Hey Drew,
You weren't "super ham" on CM, were you?
GG

I was for Pre-Moab, I was checking into the BC net and sending daily reports home. Once we got down to the Moab area we where on the trail most days until after dark. By the time we had dinner it was time to for bed.

I think it cost me an average of a tank of gas a day @ 50 to 54 dollors for premium. Everytime I filled up in the US figured I saved 20+ dollors from what I would pay at home. I think our total gas bill was around 1000 dollors.

yah I had a crazy camp..... 3 children under the age of 3.5 yrs all in a tent trailer. So many nights we needed to call it early to get them settled. Lots of cries and drama. By week 5 on the road they were perfect....go figure.

Wow...just....wow.

I think you deserve another award of some kind as well.

You were very busy! And not just on this trip... if you know what I mean :D

I thought I had it bad with two kids 17 months apart, they are 6 & 7 yrs old now, and love camping. You must have had a trailer full of diapers... unless, of course, they are out of them.
GG

Right -On I am glad that Drew and Brown Bear had a great trip, 5weeks for you , definatly another AWARD is needed. GOOD JOB for both of your teams

all of my kids are good in a car. But I trained them from birth to enjoy a drive. We always go for country drive on the weekend for an hour or two. Our entertainment is to go for a little drive. So they are used to it to some degree.

They are all in diapers too....I think it helped the road trip thou...as you didn't have to stop for too many piddles. My oldest is 3.5, then it's almost 2 and almost 1 for the others. Busy indeed :)

In Moab...

thanks. I built it over 3 years in my garage. It's not a show car, but a clean unit that should last a long time.

Nice rig BB. I don't think I've seen pics of your truck. Was/is there a build thread? I know you have mentioned a lot of the build on Mud, over the years. I'm guessing your 12th hour turbo rebuild turned out fine.

yah so far so good on the turbo. I put 12k plus kms on it. Started at 7 psi limited on the wastegate, then installed my controller about 4k down the road as I felt I needed more powa. Now running 12 psi under absolute full power and rpm. I feel it is fine. But I would have rather built a turbo closer to my needs. My turbo makes fine power but I would have chosen it to pick up sooner if I was mapping it. It;s too big IMOP..

My truck rebuild sorta was put in the diesel section. I am sucky at updating. But here it is....
