Wel honestly i HATE putting different bodys on full size frames because they usualy just look like crap...that being said, this is probably one of the cleanist jobs i have seen someone do putting a body on a chevy frame.

Looks awesome, so keep up the good work. Glad you didnt just drop it on with 2 feet of gap from the frame all the way around. ;)

I fell the same way.I want it to somewhat look like it is suposed to be there :D A little extra work to get the body down over the frame the way I wanted but it will be worth it.I dont want anything on this project to be an eyesore every time I look at it.And a huge stupid gap just would not work.

Chris

looks badass so far, keep up the good work

So that is how wide a top heavy +5500 lb. vehicle should be.

Are the front grill lights going to be indicators or running lights? (wondering, I keep smashing my blinkers and my stock of early ones is almost out). If one was to use indicators in that spot would that be a sufficient for CA laws?

Are you going to maintain some stock form or is it going to get armor?

Yes.Thats how wide it should be ;p I dont really know about the topheavy thing though. Its low and wide so Im not worried.

Im taking those out.I just took some pics of them before I did.Im putting LED running lights in that location. If you were to run signals in the grill I think it would be ok as long as they could be easily seen.

And Im gonna do both.Maintain stock form and add body protection :D

Proportionately, it looks really good. The rear wells could stand to be a bit wider though, toward the rear. With your killer drivetrain, you should have *fairly equal length front & rear shafts, which is ideal for a flexy suspension. It seems like you're doing allotta work, but you still have leaf springs under there. Why not just do it right with links?

I pushed the body foreward on the frame to keep the rear tires out of the rear doors.I am going to extend the rear wheel well opening back and move the front axle foreward to compensate for it.

Why not link it?Because I can get new front springs and a used set of Ford 57s for about $300.I could have over that into just four heims.Even running coils instead of coilovers it would be an expensive mod.I ramp 900+ foreward and around 1200 backwards.I have to dissagree with the linking it is the "right" way.I get all I need travel wise out of my leaves.

Chris

It looks bloody good, will be interesting to see how the front fits:)

It fits well.I had it on already but removed it to take care of the steering, brakes, and other stuff.:D

i think you would be better to keep the pig frame, the gap will be large with out huge fender cutting and then you end up witj a s***y flex style frame on a none flex body, please prove me wrong, love lifted pigs!
