I've shipped the 40 once and got a fair deal. But I'd prefer not to spend 50% of the cost of shipping on brokerage fees.

If anyone knows a shipper :steer:, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll go with the company that trucked her before.

Who is that? I need a 100 shipped from Texas to NC. I am tired of dealing with brokers as well!

PM me and I'll let you know who I went with the first time around. Still looking for a shipper... :D

Austin,

McNutt has shipped several cruisers for us. The only issue we ever had was we lost a fiberglass top one time because the OP didn't make sure it was secure.

Mike! Good to hear from ya. McNutt actually shipped my 40 from Baton Rouge to Meridian, TX. You recommended them then and I used them. It was about $1 per mile plus $100 for inoperable vehicle and $100 for a lift and larger than stock tires. At about $700, not too bad. The price before other fees was excellent for the fairly short trip to TX but for a long trip to NJ, $1 per mile plus fees is a deal breaker. Even with McNutt, the broker fees are steep; my actual truck driver saw a little over half the total charge, IIRC.

Stop by my saga thread to see that RT bumper mounted on the 40. Looks great!

Looks good. I see you decided to keep the stinger. ;)

As for shipping, maybe they did $1 per mile for a short trip from here to Tx. I know we shipped a few from the west coast to here and they usually ran around $1k or less. Might be worth a call

Yep, kept the stinger. Hah. I'll probably be adding a hoop to each side that will help displace any impact to the front in the future. I'll give McNutt a call in the morning.

Thanks again for everything you've done to get my 40 back on the road Mike.

60 cents per mile! Not bad. Not bad at all.

Adam, got your PM. Here is the company: http://www.mcnutttransport.com/Home/default.aspx

Unlike almost every other broker in the industry, they have an easy quote generator that they actually stand by. If I can't find a trucker/shipper directly, I will be using them.
