Hello! I am new to the GX world after painfully owning a JKU for 4 years, hopefully my new to me 460 treats us better.

gx and 4 runner.webp

We bought this fairly well outfitted GX 460 with 170,000 as our fun outdoor family vehicle. We love it so far and while it it getting "up there" in miles I know it can last us much longer. Everything was pre installed except for the Iconic Fab transmission cooler. I'm planning on running the current mild AT tires until they are ready for retirement then getting a more aggressive tread. I'm also going to make a separate post about hidden winch mount fitment on the first gen 460 hidden winch mount fitment.

Currently installed:
- OME BP-51 3" lift w/uca
- Iconic Fab trans cooler
- front skid plate
- Prinsu Pro roof rack
- Magnaflow overland exhaust
- JW rear tire carrier
- Dobinsons snorkel

Thanks in advance!

Congrats on your new Toy(ota)/Lexus! And welcome to the forum.
Considering you're coming from a Jeep background, be aware that when wheeling a GX, yes it is very capable off road and if built correctly can keep up with most Jeeps, BUT remember, you're in a Lexus GX. They aren't as cheap to fix as a Jeep when you buckle a door or fender or break something, so as the old saying goes: "tread lightly". I joke with my buddy's in our 4x4 club, which are mostly all jeeps when wheeling in the Winter, "At least I'm nice and warm with heated seats and heater!", and in the Summer, " Boy, these air cooled seats and AC sure feel good!". And all being done with a great sound system and acoustics! 😁
Note, a lot of the guys have older Jeeps.

Thank you I appreciate the insight! We're not doing any hardcore trails and do rely on it to transport the family around so we take it (fairly) easy. I will say Jeeps are still venerable for their off road capabilities and modularity. The reliability issues on mine were what ultimately soured my feeling towards them but I still admire well built ones from afar!

Agreed. The layout of Jeeps are unmatched, if only they came with Toyota drive train!
Oh, wait! They did! The FJ45 (45 Series) from 1963 - 1986!
They should come back with that design again, not the FJ of a few years ago, but more a Jeep type layout.
