Any ideas on how to get the multi-disc player out? It looks like disc 1 is not retracting so it won’t eject. TIA

Hey,
Couple of suggestions that might help. Note this is my experience w/ a 2004 equipped w/Mark Levinson.
1)Try driving around sometimes the rattling of driving for a few days fixes problems with the CD player (at least once for me).
2)Disconnect the battery wait 30 min and then reconnect, this resets the system and forces a map reload from the Nav CD (separate from the Multi-Disc).
3)Cycle between the CDs in the changer (via the screen) or perform a Disc-Scan, anything to provoke movement in the aperture.
Also make sure you are in the CD screen when trying to eject (I don't think it would affect anything but that's where my screen is when I go to eject).
Best of luck!

Its a bit of a project to remove it.

Do you still use the CD player? If yes, good on you ... If no, remove it and can replace it with a storage cubby from @BenCC

I don't remember the specifics, search around on the fourns,..You'll need to remove the center console trim to expose some bolts, that will allow you to take the arm rest out and expose the bracket holding in the CD player

I have no idea if this would work so only do this at your own risk, but I would be tempted to try to gently insert some kind of thin shim between the wall to the left and the disc holder/disc to try to push it back into the cartridge so it can release. It may not be possible given the limited space and how deep the object would need to be inserted to lever the disc back to the correct spot. Mike NXP’s suggestion would be my backup. Who knows? Maybe if you took it out you could disassemble it on the bench and get it working again.

I’m trying to imagine what could have caused this and the only thing I could think of is a panic stop or collision where momentum nudged the tray/disc forward. Kind of a longshot.

Good luck.
