Sorry I didn't go. I wish i k ew uou had kids. It was going to be my self 8 year old daughter and dog. Then I started thinking dam I don't know any body. With only two people going anything could happen in the middle of the desert. I guess it's the sign of the times. Am I crazy for thinking like that?

I'm a huge fan of solo travel and also of Spot X. I don't leave home without it. It's kept me in touch from Montana to Mexico. Lots of peace of mind for me and the family.

I did. The latest version of the Spot X lets you tether your smart phone via Bluetooth.

edit: Now I understand the question. No, still have the Gen 1 aka the Blackberry.
