I just got my offer letter for a large hospital in Lynwood. I start in 2 weeks and I'll be commuting from Riverside. :bang:

The company is paying me to relocate close to the hospital. Where is decent around Lynwood but doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I'm looking for a house or apt around $1500/mo. Something with a garage would be ideal but not 100% necessary since I can keep my crap at my uncle's factory in Lynwood if needed.

Nice Matt! La Mirada is nice and not far from Lynwood. You can try the South Bay too.
 
I would say in the South Bay area probably Torrance, Redondo Beach or El Segundo. The morning and afternoon street traffic is kind of crazy though.. I got tired of it and moved to AZ.

Inland a little bit I would consider Bixby Knolls area in Long Beach, Lakewood and possibly Bellflower.

Man.. Lynwood!?! Right in the hood!! In between Compton and South Central.. Get little POS commuter unless you have gated parking.

It'll be much cooler in the summer time than Riverside. I miss the afternoon ocean breezes. :frown:
 
Well so far it's only taking me 1:45 each way to commute. Looked at a ghetto apt in Redondo and some nicer ones in Downey so far.

I don't know how people live like this long term.
