Gary T and Bill W are going on the annual Chilliwack Mt. Cheam family run this coming Sunday, Oct 21. The views and autumn leafs are worth the trip and the trails are not difficult. There is no pressure to go down Widowmaker Hill unless you want to. We will avoid the overgrown road down that leaves pinstripes on your pristine vehicles. Some playing later on the sand cliffs is available too.
Meet at Ricky's Restaurant in Chilliwack for breakfast at 9:30 and pull out is at 10:30.
This is a family friendly event so bring the wife, kids and dog.

Maybe it will snow up there. :D

I think the freezing level is suppose to be around 1800 M during the day and down to 1000 M at night. Sunday it is suppose to go up with a warm front bringing rain. But it could dump a fair bit of snow up top between today and Sunday night. I have never been up there but have checked out some pics. Looks like fun. But, I will be bringing cold weather boots and cloths.

I've been a avid off roader for some time but am new to the land cruiser scene. I would love to take the new truck out for a run with the family if its open to everyone. Provided you dont hold the fact that my previous nine 4x4's where all land rovers.

Everybody is welcome to join us, I'm bringing my 9 year old grandson and Gary T is bringing his 14 year old nephew. The road is fine for stock vehicles. Sometimes we get snow flurries up at the top of Mt. Cheam, but its usually not much in October. A cold wind can blow from the south where the glaciers are over at the border. So wear warm clothes and boots just in case. The gold and red leafs are stunning and there are great views to the south on the way up, and later great views to the north over Chilliwack and Lake Harrison. Assuming we are not socked-in that is! Bring a lunch and cameras.

I've been a shamefully inactive member but hope to join the Cheam run this Sunday...

I'm in. 5 yr old, 6 yr old, leaving the dog, my wife will decide last minute.
Scalp, you have a radio frequency picked out?
Over at bc4x4 were thinking 146.400 would be a good 4x4 frequency.
CB channel 4.

Coastal Cruiser radio frequencies for October 21 Mount Cheam trip:
OK, lets stick with CB channel 4 for trail chatter. (channel 6 if the other is too busy)

VHF radio 146.400 MHz if CB not receiving.
Emergency ambulance 142.2450 MHz or 149.6800 MHz.
Kent-Harrison SAR 149.525 MHz. Or 148.685 MHz.

I hope you all dont mind if we join. Granite Grinder offered us to join your lil tour. I have a stock Fj and am dieing to get it out on the trails. We have been up to Sloquet several times and toured around by ourselves a bit but never get out with anyone else who wheels in case we get in trouble. So obviously are unable to actually have some real fun. We are not into damaging the truck, more seeing what it can do in a safe manner. Hope you all dont mind a younger couple joining along. We dont have kids ( not that my other half is not trying to convince me ) but may bring the mut. If you all dont mind us joining, is there anything I MUST bring in our rig, besides the obviously ? I do not have a radio yet but may be able to get my cb in in time if I can locate which friend has it.

Hey heartinhockey, this isn't a hard core run by any stretch. More a "let's get out and do something" run. It looks like terminalcityfj will be joining us, he's in an FJC. Actually, now that I think about it, what is your ride? I know you said FJ and I assumed it was an FJC. We don't mind young people, in fact we might even have a young person (or two) in the club :D:D:D
