need some help here, I am confused, I am putting in a 76 2f engine into a 1970 fj55. I need the rear motor mounts. I was told by sor that they are no longer available new, disco in the usa. A mudder posted up that ccot and manafre sell these, first pic, I am using the square ones only up front on the front motor mounts. What I am confused on is are the round ones the rear motor mounts? I have attached a pic of my rear stock motor mounts, somebody torched the bolt, I am wondering if I can push it out and use another bolt but the whole assembly looks like one piece. Do the rear round ones that ccot lists just go in place of the "can" and the rubber in the picture? and I just get a new bolt? Also, why would a "full" kit that ccot shows use 4 of the round pucks? do 2 of them go up front? I am not using any of the round ones up front, just the square ones so far.

thanks for the help.

those round pucks are not worth your time bro,,,, when i did mine i used the front square motor mounts all the way around. i found the only difference from the tranny mounts was the overall height being a little shorter so i just used a big thick washer as a spacer.

BTW the four pucks are meant to be used over and under on each mount, 2 per side but its a compromise and its not the right mount.

thanks Rhino, that helps, so the 4 pucks are meant to be used 2 per side on the rear? I am guessing that they just double them up then. After looking at my stock mounts more carefully, the only problem with them is that the studs on the bottom of the metal "can" are broken off. I am thinking to save some money I can simply grind these down and weld on a new stud that fits? does anyone see any problems with this? The only issue I see is heating up the can too much and melting the rubber in there? I am thinking though if I let it cool between weld passes it should be ok? maybe wrap the puck in a wet towel while I am welding on it to keep it cool? would welding on this be a bad idea as far as premature failure?
