I bought a 90 2wd truck and the previous owner said the guy he bought it from did a swap from 3.0 to 22re. Never had a 3.slo, so wouldn't know if the mounts were the same. Had a hole lot of 22r/re's. the guy who did the swap Jerry-rigged a lot of s***. It passed emissions, so not trying to open a can of worms. I did buy a complete long block with complete of everything.

On a good note: I got the truck for cheap and will be converting it to 4wd with a live axle up front. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Mahalos and Aloha

The mounts on the frame aren't in the same place.

You can tell from the VIN what engine it had from the factory. It's usually the 4th digit: R = 22R series, V = 3VZ series.

I thought that the engine mounts on the chassis are the same. What changes is the bracket that bolts onto the block. The 3.slow has longer brackets than the 22r.

The frame mounts are about 1" farther forward on a 4cyl.

They may be at a slightly different angle too but I'm not sure on that.
