With MX 13 released today, there's an in-app link to upgrade ($24.99!) to a driver for Pioneer heads (ie AppRadio). No details can be found on either Pioneer's website, iTunes, or MX website. Anyone have any info or tired it?

On GPS Drive (for the iPhone):
Menu>Settings>Map Settings>Purchase Options.
What upgraded cable? AppRadio comes with it's own 30 pin.

I see now. This is for the new display mode on the latest head units. It allows control of the application via the head unit rather than simple video display. It's called advanced app mode. Pioneer wants a license for it apparently.
The cable I referred to is a new interface cable that comes with the 140bt and ar2.

Talked to MotionX today and you're correct. It's for non-Pioneer applications. $24.99 app is not needed for either of the two AppRadio varietals.
