You could have mine for $36,999. Also 3x locked.I was bidding today on BAT for a very nice white 80 triple locked with 163X miles. I said adios at $37,000. F-ing insane...
I've never owned an 80 but have always thought they are possibly the best vehicle Toyota has ever made. Not sure where else to search, lots of junk on fleabay and there don't seem to be any good deals on BAT. May have to ride the hysteria out, you would think the high cost of gasoline would help and then those California emission Nazi police....You could have mine for $36,999. Also 3x locked.![]()
I pulled out on a CLEAN 94 unlocked with 140k on the local Craigslist for $16k for personal reasons. Seemed like a reasonable deal, even pre-pandemic.I've never owned an 80 but have always thought they are possibly the best vehicle Toyota has ever made. That '95 went for $50k. It was a very nice example.I was bidding today on BAT for a very nice white 80 triple locked with 163X miles. I said adios at $37,000. F-ing insane...
The '97 model went for $27k w/o lockers.A tale of two fzj80's. Both are black and have miles in the 130k's. Guess which one is gaining the most bids.

Some guys it seems to be. But obviously not for all, judging by the prices unlocked ones are going for. Someone made a good point awhile back, cliff notes, basically you can put in Harrop or other lockers aftermarket for the price difference and have a better or at least as good end result. In my 80 search, if it isn't triple locked is that a deal breaker with you guys?
You can always add lockers(harrop, ARB, etc), unless your looking for a collector 80 to resell, then the oem locker option adds to the resell value. When I was shopping for my '94, I bought the cleanest example I could afford, not to resell, but to keep. It doesn't have lockers and I don't care, because I do not need them. If I was looking for an investment level 80, then I would have looked for the oem locker opted one with the lowest miles I could find, then hold on to it until the prices were at their peak and then put it up for sale.In my 80 search, if it isn't triple locked is that a deal breaker with you guys?
For a recent sale reference... I just sold my 93 "Triple Locked" with 228k miles for full asking price of $17,500. Super clean with no rush dents or dash cracks. Here's a. listing photo attached as well. Great photos and description are vital in selling for a good price outside of BAT. Had new shocks, tie rods and ends and aftermarket wheels.
It actually ended up selling in a couple hours off Craigslist. On Facebook I just got a bunch of dumb comments about how it won't sell for asking and people trying to tell me what I "should" have done. Buyers on Craigslist, tire kickers and idiots on Facebook has been my experience in general after selling 3 of these 80's over time.
Chart seems to be right on with prices.

I didn't think yours was priced that high. Clean condition, upfront description, and good presentation helped you get full value. Congrats!
Great looking rig! Congrats on the quick sale! I agree that it probably was priced a bit low, but you got the quick sale you were after so it was a win win for both parties. For a recent sale reference... It has some oil leaks, a couple VERY small rust spots around roof rack holes and the seats were a bit worn out. Other than that it was a great 3 owner with clean Carfax.
I had to sell it due to moving and already miss it. I probably will regret selling.
