This is A grate place and like all grate spots it needs are support to remain open and free. The BLM was spotted out there last weekend
looking to close last chance canyon. just around the corner from
from jaw bone :crybaby: this would be a huge loss to all.

Calico Kid aka John

Hey John! You can count me in for this one. This is a great area that needs support. Ed Walheim and CORVA have done a great job keeping this gate open. Let me know when and where you guys are meeting up and I'll tag along. Heck I'll even drag the dutch oven out for some night time grub.

:)

Calico - Is there a good link to find out more about the Jawbone area?

I always seem to be short of time when passing through there and haven't even pulled off the road to explore.

this is the Gold Coast Cruisers April run as it turns out, on the same weekend.

Do you know if an 80 can get thru the V notch? or would the bypass be the only way?
Is the bypass the one with the large drop off too?

I would use the bypass if your 80 has not been recked ;)

Mark, plan is to leave early Sat Morning for Bakersfield, attend the LC Rally there for a few hours, then head over the 58 to Mojave and Red Rock. We can enjoy the late afternoon and evening festivities and support the Sunday trail ride. Then we will do our own thing.

John and I have also been talking about an early Monday morning hike up to the top of Black Mountain. Appx 6 mi round trip.
