I have found numerous threads on how to clean the moon roof drains; however, I just want to know how to remove the pine needles and such from between the glass and the carpeted cover. Thanks!

Remove the glass, and while it's out you can thoroughly clean and lube the gasket. Only downside IME is that the plastic molding that covers the mounting bolts becomes very brittle with age and may break.

If your Sun/Moon roof has Rear Tilt, I have found that the easiest way to clean that stuff out of there is as follows:

Get a Shop-Vac Micro Cleaning Kit from HD or Lowes. Use the small brush that comes in the kit.

You will need to use Scotch 33 Electrical Tape to attach it to a piece of 1/2" hose from your local hardware store.

Attach the 1/2" hose to a Crevice Tool with the 33 Tape.

Put Shop-Vac on Roof.

Use Tilt and lift the Sun/Moon roof.

With the inner cover closed all the way, start cleaning from the rear to the front.

I started with the left side first.

Works Great and No Need to Drop Headliner !!
