view from the river overlook....my truck is just up the "hill" from where we are standing at this point....notice the distance down to the river.

The 60 did really well on the trails I went on. The only real issue were the steep drops and climbs where I drug the bumper, but there was no choice (rear bumper). This time I did not drag the front bumper that bad, although it took some grinding too. A few times I know I just missed the rocks on the front by a mere inch or two. The rear was a different story..came down hard on the rear bumper more than once. I think the trail was called metal bender....a couple of rather steep decents and drops where I paid some dues. Great Oct 2015 Trip. We need to do this again. I had fun, but left a few days earlier than others...my sleep apnea was bothering me. I'm ready to go back next year or something...maybe some other places too. I know its time and $$. Had a good time with some good friends and met some new friends. A lot of folks had some mechanical issues and worse, but everyone had fun and enjoyed it. Can't say enough about Danny letting us stay at his place, and Woody and Gary stopping by and showing us around along with Danny giving us tips on where to do and what to do....made the trip so much better for us. From my time there and what I read issues in our crew....some axle breakage, leaf spring break, driveshaft issue, broken windshield and other stuff, fuel pump issue, fan belts, radiator, death wobble... everyone made it home...plenty of scrapes and pin-strips and a few dents all around.

I was surprised that the 60 did fairly well on a couple of the lighter duty trails. The traction on the rocks was incredible in comparison to TN and areas in the south. Front and Rear lockers and decent tires made all the difference out in MOAB, for the stuff the larger trucks could handle..some places it seemed it was a little nerve racking on the short wheel base guys in comparison to the longer wheel base 60 and Jason's 4runner.

My only suggestion next time is that we get moving in the morning earlier (easier said than done), but I think we could see and do more things that way. ITs always a challenge to find things/trails that everyone has a chance to do and enjoy without having to drag/winch one of us on everything. Obviously the bigger trucks have certain challenges that others don't. This takes everyone's contribution, obviously most of us were brand new to Moab and so figuring out what to do was a challenge in itself, and deciding on what to do is never an easy choice with a bigger team.. We had some mechanical issues to deal with and those had to be worked through. There is plenty to see and do...even beyond the harder core trails so next time I'm going to dedicate some time to do that too, I meant to do more but the sleep biz thing changed that a little bit.

I don't mind saying I have some issues with heights and some of the drop-offs and ledges..etc made me get friendly with the fabric of my seat...so all the trails are not so comfortable for all the people. Great to go with a good group of friends. Fantastic trip, incredible scenery and new things to try and do. I'm all for trying the same thing again or some new adventure that we can work out as a group.

next time the red-head step child has to come along :)

If it had not have been for the Furniture Market I would have been their for sure. Assuming you were talking about me Elbert.

Yeah...I saw that comment somewhere else... Just all in good fun. Hope we can do something like this as a group again. :)

I'm the gray haired step child...in the mix....
