Is anyone looking into 2M/Ham radios so if anyone gets separated or break downs in middle of BFE?

I will be lic by this time just didn't know if it would be on others mind.

how much is equipment and can it be installed in vehicles?

I read somewhere awhile back that it wasn't supposed to be for vehicles even thought some have installed (80 series I believe). I could be mistaken ...
