Missing cable from fuel sender

Hello! I wanted to check why my fuel gauge wasn't working so I opened the fuel sender hole behind the seats and I found out that NOTHING is connected to the fuel sender! I checked with a light and a camera if there were any cables laying around but nothing...
Anyone knows what type of cable and connector I need to connect somehow the fuel sender to the gauges panel and explain to me like you would do to a 5 year old?

What year and type of FJ4x do you have? You need to find a wiring diagram for your vehicle so you can ID the proper wire color that goes to the sender.

Depending on the year, you should have a positive with a female spade connector that connects to the center-top of the fuel sending unit. Then you should have a ground with a small ring connector that goes under one of the flange screws. On ours, it is necessary to lift the passenger-side front seat in order to gain access to the top of the tank. The wires feed from the top of the tank down through a hole in the floor and over to the firewall.

Yes, sorry, FJ45 1984. I know where the hole is but nothing is connected to the sender. I wanted to know what connector do I need to go from the dashboard to the sender, any chance that is this one hanging from under the dashboard?

I already found it because I followed it from the dashboard and the previous owner disconnected it and hid it...!

So, since it has a rubber gasket, the screws will be the contact with the ground right? I got the new sender today and I didn't install it yet

I don't know what a sub harness is, but if you're asking if I found all the plugs, connectors, etc... then yes.!

I just attached a picture of the gauge pointing to full, then I realized I made a mistake but we can't delete posts here... I "reported" myself hoping the admins will delete my last 2 posts. Sensor installed, everything works
