My battery is loose. I’ve just used a bolt and nut to hold it down as shown in the picture. What are the actual parts that’s suppose to go here?

I'm pretty sure the hold down bolts straight to the cross member.Parts list is here. Hard to tell from the photo but looks like maybe the size of the battery is not letting the hold down sit flush?

Nothing additional there, you can "lengthen" the j-bolt side to try to get it a little more even. If you're having to use a nut too then someone stripped or removed the captive nut that was on the crossmember.

You’re right. There’s nothing on the cross member for the bolt to hold on to. I had to use a nut on the under side.

Add a washer to it and forget about it. Unless you’re hellbent about using the OEM bolt.
My plan was to just live with it. My main concern is that in an emergency, it’ll be a pain to get the battery. There’s not a lot of room under the cross member to hold on to the nut to take out the bolt.

I might just JBweld the nut to the underside.

Just install a new rivnut and use a matching bolt. Problem solved. Get a rivnut/nutsert tool. Less than $50-70 on Amazon

Very common tool in the auto industry. I see people using them here on the forum all the time for stuff. Lots of uses!
Thanks for the rivet nut recommendation.

I went on a little rabbit hole looking it up. I actually ended up using a Plus Nut for the larger head diameter.

Also, I found multiple YouTube videos showing how to install it without using a tool which worked great.

Now I have another tool under my belt for the entry price of $10 for a bunch of plus nuts. Thanks!
