On a side note hes looking for a welder that would be interested in fixing the frame
if anyone knows a good shop / welder that would do it

That's pretty awesome. I had a 1983 Mojave edition. This is all I have left....
From the look of that frame the rust is probably a lot more extensive. Usually the inside would rust first.
Can still be fixed, just likely a more extensive re build of he rear section. Rather than a quick patch

Send an email to Marlin down in Fresno and have them see if they can send one up.
Probably cheaper than trying to fix, and you'd get a good frame.

There are few jobs more unrelenting and awful than frame repair, I doubt you'll find a welder with any desire to go near it without beating him over the head with bags of money.

I'd go for a temp fix so it's drivable while you look for a new frame...chances are, any repair you do will be shat upon from a great height if you ever get a vi, whether it was cheap or expensive.

Cool truck tho. Worth the effort.

Sweet! the mojave's were cool trucks. And yeah it needs a new back half of the frame.
