On my 100th thread and 1000th post I thought I’d make it count! It’s been 20 years since I made the jump from Florida to Arizona. A flatlander that played in the mud came to the desert to do some off-roading that I only dreamt of while reading magazines back in the day.

I joined MUD in May 2006 and my first post was that June after the Toyota Trails Team CSC run (FJ ROCKS ARIZONA). So soon to be 20 years of MUD and as a CSC member. I’ve been absentee for the last 2 years and a bit light on the contributions over the last 4 years. Life happens sometimes but I’m finding my way back into wheeling, wrenching, and CSC.

FJ ROCKS ARIZONA (FJ Cruiser Team Run) Saturday, June 10th - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/fj-rocks-arizona-fj-cruiser-team-run-saturday-june-10th.92457/page-11

March 27, 2006 is the day I took delivery of my first FJ Cruiser. I’m coming up on 20 years and almost 250K miles of seat time. My 2007 Black Diamond (2006-2012) and now 2012 Radiant Red (2012-Present) have been my only daily drivers and wheelers the entire time. Pretty special and a bit crazy in this day and age to essentially drive the same vehicle for that long. Then there was all the, let’s call them “project Cruisers” on the side that fed my obsession during this time too … but I digress.

In April I’ll attend my 10th Cruise Moab. I look forward to reconnecting with the people I’ve come to know through this event over the last 18 years. Some people don’t like or appreciate the structured trail runs and bigger groups but I enjoy meeting and talking to fellow enthusiast from all over the world that congregate at this great event.

I’m thankful I had the opportunity to move to Arizona, thankful for sticking with my Toyota roots taking a chance on the then new FJC, and extremely thankful for all the friendships, relationships, memories, instruction, and knowledge sharing I’ve been able to enjoy thanks to this community.

Oh and I picked up a 1978 FJ40 about 2 years ago that will be getting some much needed love soon. But that is a thread for another day…

Cheers!
