This is a cross post since I made the original post in the 40 - 55 section. I have developed a roll cage kit for the FJ45 truck, but it will require you to relocate your gas tank. All the pictures and information is in the other thread.

Metal Tech FJ45 Roll Cage

LT- thanks for coming up with this AFTER I bought 140' of 1 3/4, .120 wall DOM, a Pro #105 bender with dies, and a JD2 Notch Master. I only have $1000 in the materials to make my own.

But seriously, it looks nice and will give me some hints of how to do mine. Nice work as usual.

Luke, IIRC, you were planning to CHOP HOLES in the back of your cab for a cage that would integrate with your bed! Sure that was 2-3 years ago on Pirate, but still............ Got a sketch of your 'new' plan?

very nice..... how is the lv cage coming :)

Slow... I am currently working out the aluminum radiator and electrical fan situation along with a 3 link with Sway Away Coilovers.

I wonder if it would fit in my FJ40/45 hybrid project?

Kind of depends on your floor situation and how high the B pillar goes. All those affect the A pillar and the final bend to match the height of the B pillar.

Thank you. You could always use that tubing for some other project like a roll cage for your bed or perhaps you should cut the frame off behind the cab and build a tubed out rear end with coil overs :grinpimp:

Mark-

Yeah- it took me a long time to decide what I was going to do for sure. I cut the back of the cab in the same place as a removable hard top 45, and am planning to fabricate flanges that would approximate what a removable top version would do. The roll cage will look something like MTs profile cage at the A pillar, will come up at the back of the cab, then "jog" back over the bed slightly for better shoulder room, and have "kickers" that go back to the back of the bed over the wheelwells. This should give me adequate protection, decent appearance and overall structurally stiffen the chassis. I'll need to think about a sketch to convey it better.
