Had some bad overheating problems through the mountains, see here:

I decided to not worry about it until after Xmas so am off to poke around under the hood. Wish me luck

Oooh bummer, x2 on the rad cap start with the cheep & easy first, although that would be my guess as well. Go for the mechanical temp gauge over the electric, good call.
