I was working late with some youtube in the background. Looked up to see this 6x6 mega build on what I think is a gen 3 200 chassis.

Link to the Tasmania drive around:

Mostly though, what purpose can two roof top tents serve?

Definitely a monster!
I dunno though... To me, if you prefer sleeping off the ground and have the people and space...why not? With seating enough for an entire family or crew...tents let them them all sleep off the ground and away from crazy critters. If one makes sense for two people...then two make sense for 4...

If I lived in Alaska and routinely wheeled in the northern boonies....I’d have a rooftop tent...for reasons it’s hard to fully appreciate unless you’ve tented extensively up there. There are things up there that make being off the ground super helpful.

Not sure what critter Tasmania has to offer, but I do know Australia has some dang creepy critters... ;)

What do you think?

Their "multi inflater" can only do 2 tires at a time 😂🙄

What I’m waiting to see is someone tweak their AHC pump to use as a tire inflator and combine it with the 4-tire inflator system. All 4 Adventures on YouTube did it with their unimog (forget which long video it’s in), and the tires went up fast!! They did 1 tire at a time though but still a great idea to take advantage of the built-in pump.

Speaking of 4-tire systems, here is another option . Basically same idea as the diy ones we see here on mud.

I thought AHC was a hydraulic system, and the pump moved fluid, not air. How could that be adapted to inflate tires? Maybe I'm missing something?

It does, I was just thinking maybe someone can figure out a way to make it work for both. And they did it on the unimog which I assume is actual air suspension for the height control system so not exactly a fair comparison but I was just throwing the idea out there, hoping that with enough time someone will figure it out.

I imagine if it can move fluid it can move air somehow? One way I can think of, but it won’t be practical since it’s bulkier than an external air compressor setup and point is to try and save space, is to add 2 tanks (one for fluid and one for compressed air), and pump the fluid into the 2nd tank from first tank to push the air out into the tires. Not sure how you’d put the compressed air back into 2nd tank and like I said it’s not practical, but maybe where there is a will there is a way and someone more educated than me can figure it out.

Honestly not sure how we’d get there with a hydraulic pump, but id like to see an end result similar to what’s on the unimog:

There’s been many times where I wished I could individually control the height of each corner of the car (mainly for leveling out the bed at night), and the unimog system can do that. I can’t imagine that our AHC system is too far from that kind of capability. Maybe edit the height in techstream, but that doesn’t answer the “can it be used for tires” question.

maybe Dangcat has been smoking some "stuff" again  :smokin:

That’s probably always the case but hey, a little man can dream, right!?

Let’s just say I’m going to have a lot of fun in the “legal” states when I begin my travels lol.
