I just wanted to thank everyone for the huge turnout on the 9th at the Flag!
It was great to chat with some new friends and faces as well as the regulars after our summer break. Bikersmurf made his first appearance and we chatted about his hot rod 40 and Harlequin golf paint schemes. Darnell brought his super clean green 42 that I heard had a bit of a whistle under the hood as it pulled into the parking lot. Man that’s a nice 42 Darnell. It was great to see Dan back from Alberta if only for a short while before heading back to the oil patch. And those are only the few I made it around to chatting with.
I think we all can agree that Charles and Petra are amazing people. Their selfless and caring nature coupled with a plethora of positivety and endless ambition makes them truly unique individuals. The pictures they brought back from Guatemala warmed hearts and truly depicted the many reasons we here on the West Coast are so fortunate.
For our next meeting I plan to bring forward a motion to make a donation towards their future efforts. For those who missed it Charles and Petra will be traveling to Sierra Leone this Febuary to help the local tribes rebuild the most basic of amenities and infrastructure related necessities. Any cash we can scrape together as a club would be a big help and the very least we could do.
The turnout and conversation was so good on the 9th we (Steve, Jason, Ken and I) decided not to interrupt it all with official club ramblings. So as of now our first club meeting of the season will be, as usual the 3rd Wednesday of the month. That’s the 15th of sept. Look for a posting with finalized dates, times and the location.
Let’s keep the momentum rolling long into the new season!
