Thanks all for the TSB info here. Took in the LC last week and the technician confirmed the issue. Dealer ordered the new driveshaft assembly and installed the next day, all under warranty of course. It drives much smoother now and I'm enjoying the rig more than ever. Now if there were only a TSB available to bump the gas milage up a bit I'd be golden.

It would be interesting to find out what the real problem is/was - crappy u-joints? Machining out of tolerance? What?

How can it drive "much smoother" by changing the Drive shaft? All that changed was the thump is gone when your coming to a stop. I've gotten used to the thumping in all my auto toyota rigs that i don't even notice it anymore.

No thump => smoother.

Just because you may not want to correct the problem, others feel that for 70K+ their vehicles shouldn't exhibit these problems. Why not take advantage of a TSB? That's what warranties are for.

I'm very satisfied now that my vehicle has been fixed.

And yes, it is much smoother than before.

It was there when starting and stopping.

Yes, it is a smoother ride after my drive shaft service awhile back. Before the service, each thump feels like a slight downshift feeling from a stop to go situation.
