I will not know my departure time until my son finishes his finals. Most likely Saturday am and I do have to work on Sunday.

Another recommendation is that you secure your load! Tie down the cooler. Compressors need to be stowed with the rest of the small stuff that will fly around. If you do not have drawer then put stuff in back packs or duffel bags and tie them down.

My plan as of now is to go down with the Friday evening group.

@Black798
I think we should add a section to the first post with some safety requirements and suggestions..since you were kind enough to take the wheel on that one. :)
As mentioned by @4gotalot :
1. Tie everything down in your rig. (SERIOUSLY EVERYTHING)
2. Safety flag requirement
but also:
3. Make sure your cooling systems and transmissions are working correctly because the sand puts a lot of stress on these components. ID is a long way from home.
4. CB radio is a absolute requirement and we will use them communicating between rigs when were going up and over big hills and such.
5. YOU WILL GET SAND EVERYWHERE BUT ITS SOOOOO WORTH IT :)
Anyone else think of anything to add?

Hi so I’m just curious if anyone is leaving early Saturday morning to get down to the dunes. It looks like a lot of people are taking off Friday. If so is meeting at the four corners possibly the mama Maxx parking lot work and we can take off from there? It sounds like we probably need to be there by 5:30 AM to get there by 9 AM.

Done and done. Let me know if I missed anything

For those of you that have gone before, is there any need for firewood? Trying to decide if I should pack some in the trasharoo or not

Ok Ill go ahead and bring some. I can fit about a nights work in the trasharoo while still staying in its 50lb load limit

Hey guys, sorry I missed this thread until now... I made a thread just to cover a few points and get a head count, found here.

Since I saw a few questions about it, 406 Cruisers has 8 flags that Stephen will be bringing down. So that should cover the bulk of the group...

My buddy and I are planning on leaving on Friday, looks like a 5 hour drive from Nampa ID, we will be leaving shortly after 4PM where exactly could we find everyone at around 9PM on Friday Night?
Thanks,
Christian

do you have @Black798 's number? if not ill start a PM so everyone can get contact info. I don't remember cell coverage being a problem out there. We should be just up the road and over the hill from the previously mentioned sand resort. I'm thinking that the Friday convoy leaving Bozeman will arrive sometime around 9 as well.

I was thinking we would be able to make it down there by 8:30 depending on traffic in the canyon which shouldn't be too bad sense ski season is over. @Rockyt4r Ill text you are actual coordinates once we roll into the dunes but we shouldn't be too hard to find.
