The Trail Team just confirmed that it's gonna be a stop.

The only one in the Chicago area, AFAIK. Woody is gonna try and make it too, even though he's on the East team and this will be a Midwest team event.

It's the day before Mother's day so go shop now, then you'll be free to either:

get out of the house because you'll be stuck there all Sunday, or

take the wife wheelin' and let her drive a FJC on the trail. That's what I'm doin' :D

It'd be good to have a strong Windy City turn out.

I looking forward to bring the team to my Midwest stomping grounds, I hope we have a great turnout!

I'm bringing the :princess: with me as well. It's our 1 year anniv. (I know.. laugh it up) but she seems ok with it now. We'll see after the 28th run... (she's coming to that one too)

sorry guys I'm up to my eyeballs in sawdust and drywall-- Another ankle-biter means another bedroom... Won't be done till June. But my birthday is May 8th so I may be able to get special dispensation, if the weather is nice.
I'm not sure what a trail team is, or why woody isn't in Wisconsin, so I'll admit I'm so far out in the weeds I feel like Austin Powers. Anyway, will there be FJCruisers available to test drive at Cliff's? I hope that's a dumb question, I like those kinds.

yup there will be fjc's there for your destructive pleasures:D

Did you used to have an IFS 4runner on 35" krawlers, if so I wheeled with you once at the badlands, if not ill shut up.

The Seneca bridge is still out. You can get back on Eastbound 80 from 6 at the Seneca exit, but I don't think you can get off westbound 80 and get down 6.

Get off at Morris and take 6 west from there.

Pre-ran it today. Really good conditions. One and three were very nice. A FJC met us there and ran well.

We ran 10 before my son in my 80 and the FJC showed up. That would not be good for 95% of the FJCs out there. It was tough.

I beleive that was 7 we ran. 10 is the longer one that starts near cooters hill and ends near land cruiser trail

Sounds like fun. thanks for the logistics info. I'm totally psyched to go, and hopefully it will stay dry. I just got my new ARB bar on a few days ago and am finishing up my Bilsteins today. Can't wait to try 'em all out. See you all in a week.

Hey 4rnr, yeah that was me. Those were Goebeler's tires I was borrowing, who in turn got them from Smythe/Spaceghost back in the day. He was nice enough to loan them to me, and I went and chewed the hell out of the lugs with my ratty cut fenders.

I am hustling to make it this weekend, but it's looking grim. I have three rooms to prime before then, and no time to do it. I hope to see you all there!

Slider update: I ground and flap-disked mine, then sandblasted/shotpeened and they are going to the powdercoat next week.

Yeah, I got the itch. Slee didn't have more of his older style bumpers, and I got my tax refund checks. Before I blew them on something not as fun, I ordered up an ARB and new shocks. I did get the winch bar, but as of yet haven't ordered a winch. If I do eventually get a winch I'll probably go with the Summit (T-Max) 10,000lb. Too good of a deal to pass up. But, I need to seriously make more wheeling trips to justify buying one..

On another note, the Bilstein shocks are incredible. Besides breaking off 2 shock mount bolts, they went on pretty easily. Actually I was able to vise grip'em out pretty quickly from the top. I also found I had a stuck parking brake bellcrank during my 2500 mile trip to Florida and back. Nevertheless, got that all freed up today so I think I'm all set for Saturday.

Oh yeah, Scott, I ditched the HF tow strap (thin one with hooks... I know.. I know...:D ) and ordered some good screw pin shackles from Grainger so I can use my good strap if needed. Should have 'em tomorrow.

hope to se you guys there got about a 2.5 hour drive to get there
