My buddy hooked me up with a set of these tires to do a little head to head testing with the current MT tires I’m running.

I’ve got

Yokohama 235/85-16 MT/2003
KM3, both 33x10.50-15 and 7.50-16

These tires replace a <7000 mile set of KM2s

More to come.

Honest review forthcoming.

This makes me remember I owe the thread some measurements.

This is mounted on a 15x6 Cruiser OEM wheel at 32#

The height is impressive. I have to check but this could be a full inch taller than my KM3.

Edit. I just checked. This is a 33x10.50 KM3 on 15x7 OEM Cruiser wheels

I just went and made sure and damn if it ain’t so.

WTH.

Now to find someone for a real measurement of 31/10.5/15 Yoko G003s. If they're as big or bigger than 33/10.5/15 KM3s, that really throws a wrench in my tire shopping.

Got a good first drive in.

These tires drive nice and true.

At 32# they make more noise New than my KM3s do with 8000+ miles

The wider tire and heavier tire work the brakes a bit more

That said, they are truly 2” taller than the comparator.

That’s a lot.

The Maxxis are much bigger. The only downside so far is that they are bigger and heavier, therefore you get all the things that come with more rolling mass.

So far so good. Putting some real miles on them this weekend.

Hey thanks a heap wngrog for your “Sherlock Holmes” type detective work ! I am entering into this realm for my ‘67 build and your exposing these deceptive practices of SOME tire manufacturers is a great observation and can be critical info.in various ways when doing a project.

One looming question....HOW did ya convince Mrs. wngrog into allowing ($) yet another set into your tire fetish collection ?
