Trying to debug a wonky master window switch. All windows work except the driver's side. The driver's side seems to work UNLESS you insert it into the door, i.e. unless it twists / compresses, so I am guessing some connection must be bad somewhere. I tried disassembling it but didn't get very far - just cleaned the connectors - I'm guessing something inside must be broken. Basically, AUTO kind of works, and non-auto more or less does not (it's pretty intermittent so I can't lock it down to an exact problem). Interestingly, the area around the driver's side had a lot of soot, so maybe something was sparking there?

It's not an (easy) option for me to replace the switch at the moment as it's LHD vs RHD, so I'd like to see if I can fix it first... any advice on what to do with it would be appreciated.

IME cleaning may help for a short period but eventually replacement is the long term solution.

Go to Dorman for a perfect replacement. Mine is going on a decade +
