Massive Rust under headliner towards back door seal

Hi,
Does anyone have any idea where the water could be coming in from? This is at the very back of the car, where the red arrow is pointing in the picture below.
The rear window wiper motor water hose runs through there — could that be leaking and causing this mess? It’s exactly the same on both sides. Please see picture 3.

There is no wiper motor water hose on the right side of the car but similar rust can be seen there too, pic 3 and 4

Are there any water stains on the headliner?

Any holes in the roof (check where the roof meets the roof gutters).

Leaks getting by the quarter window gaskets and/or the molding under the windows and/or the vents behind the quarter windows
will let water into the cabin.

Rear tail lamp buckets (behind the lamp itself) can leak allowing water into the lower quarter panel cavity.

Water may be getting past the weatherstrip around the entire rear body opening (hatch/lift gate), if you remove that weatherstrip
you may find rust or worse, holes.

Can you take and post up more photos, wider shots, roof, quarter windows, rear hatch glass/gasket,

Yes the most hard one is in this post. Rest I have grinded/wire brushed, rust treated, epoxy enamel painted, and the holes will be patched with fiber glass and mesh. Dont have welding skills and too scared to use one.
Anyhow will complete all rust repairs some day.

Been itching to remove headliner and see how much rust was hiding under it. Luckily nothing new seen.
