Thanks for all the work you did arranging this weekends activities. I had fun meeting yall and putting faces to screen names. You put on a great show saturday night with the excellent food and awesome raffle items, maybe next year I will wine one. ;)

Thanks Daryl for the lesson in how to extract a 100 series land cruiser with a broken front diff up a steep hill in the dark none the less.

Rob, thanks for the getting me road worth for my trip home. Your help was much appreciated.

Mark and Clarence, thanks for the initial help on the trail after I broke.

I have marked my calendar and put in for vacation next year so I can be there the whole weekend next year. Until then,:cheers:

The real heroes were Rob and Daryl. It was an amazing sight to see, getting a broken vehicle up that hill and back to the pavilion flawlessly. And Rob jumping at the chance to tear into it at 11 pm on gravel to get it home. For me it was all just part of the experience. As they said in the Six million dollar man... "We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability... Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster."

Oh and I have to thank Jes for helping me with my starter Issue, that much thinking through what seemed to be a horrendous hangover was a feat in it self.

Clarence what was the deal with the starter? I made it back to camp at 11:30 and everyone was gone.

My head damn near exploded about half way home. I stopped at a pizza buffet in some Talibaptist town on hwy 65 and shut the place down.

I'm glad I was able to help.

It was great wheeling with Daryl. Nice to have a trail guide that knows the trails.

Looking forward to wheeling with you guys at the next Crawl. I'm sure we'll see some of you at the LSLC Roundup.

Haven't really gotten into the starter yet, but from what Jes Greg and others said it does seem to be the contacts. Jes and I got it started and I didn't shut it off until I got home.

Did my suggestion of disconnecting the wire to the solenoid and using a jumper you could "yank" out after it started work for you?
 
We never got that far.. There is a wire that goes from the bottom of the solenoid to the starter. It was the easiest to get to by far, so we decided to give it a shot and if that didn't work try the Jumper idea (I already had the jumper wire down there with me to giv it a go).

Charles,

Thanks for having a fedex account. Daryl and his ride was awesome. Loved the razorbacks on his truck (asked my wife to marry me at the miracle on markham, hog fans know what that is).

I hope I can be the expert on the trail one day and repay the favor to another newbie. I also hope the next time I can get a hangover like Jess instead of fixing or watching Rob fix my truck.
