I’m coming up on 40,000 miles on my 2015 LX been doing normal Lexus maintenance every 5k miles, except I have the dealer change oil and filter every 5000 miles 0w20 Lexus filter. This Lexus has never been off road or in the snow so no salt exposer. Tires rotated every 5k miles and balanced, perfect wear. Anything you guys would recommend other then what the book recommends?

I would inspect the air filter if it hasn't been serviced before. I would also change the diff oil if it hasn't been done.

I would proactively change the motor every 50k...

She's still a baby. Doesn't need much of anything other than what you're doing.

Perhaps a nice "spa day" with professional detailing inside and out?
New wipers?

If you're not already, make a habit of checking your oil level with the dipstick in between those regularly scheduled 5k dealer oil changes. Ask me how I know :(

Been thinking about doing the differentials and the transfer case fluid??? But the manual states that you never need to change differential fluid or transfer case fluid which I don’t believe I might do it now or at 45,000. Guess what I do it now they screw anything up I’m still under warranty for several years

I’m pretty sure it says to Tcase and diffs every 30k miles. That is what I have done at 30k and 60k.

Check levels in the diffs at a minimum. My used lx was 1.5 qts low in rear diff. Dealer maintained!

The dealer did my diffs and TC at 30k. I did my own at 60k. The Allen screw was completely stripped on the front diff plug... and when I finally got it out the fluid was nasty. So I’m willing to bet they didn’t change the front when they charged me for it at 30k. If it hadn’t been stripped would have been a <2hr job with the truck on a lift

Looks like Would need to take my oil sample bottles for analysis along and ask them to take samples for front differential rear differential and transfer case so that They know I’m gonna be sending them in for testing that way it would behoove them to go ahead and drain it and fill it up since I have to have a sample . I used to do this myself on my Cummins turbo diesel that it was real easy to get under, and I had all the tools, now I live in a condo with a parking garage so I don’t have the facilities to do it myself I wish I did it doesn’t take long. But based on others’ experiences with the dealer it looks like I’m better off just to leave the fluid as it came from the factory since it’s a mall cruiser on smooth roads in northern Florida. I think a good spa day might be the best advice for my LX 😂

So you'll never change the differential and transfer case oil in yours?
Not with the normal service I’ll probably take it in on an off day and just have them do the differentials then I’ll take it back on another off day and just have them do the transfer case I’ll have him take oil samples at each time and I hope to God they fill it up don’t screw anything up.

What happened?
