On the flywheel there are 2 marks close to TDC
The manual says 7 degrees BTDC is the line. Is the drill mark TDC?

I think that's backwards, the line is TDC and the BB is 7 or 8 degrees. I could be wrong.

Now with side/park lights built in I can look for a LED indicator to replace the last of the old lights.

In and hooked up. Few minor issues as earth is not earth ( green and yellow) but the side lights. Black is earth.
Intermittent high beam from before install. Broken wire in loom.

After knocking the plug while ruff idling trying to check the timing she stopped dead.
TDC set with strobe and wires twisted together and she start off the key every time.
Now just to solder a few bits together and she's purring like a kitten again.

Any one have a 3FE oil cooler laying around.

Hey Matt, I just logged on (haven't in years) to try to find your email address- great to see you got your 40 back! My 42 is still skulking around marking its territory. Where did you buy? We bought in Nth Warrandyte. Will have to have a beer sometime. Wanted to ask you about cooling components for a small oil cooler for a motorbike. Cheers, Hans.

Well I had not noticed but on close inspection the oil cooler has been repaired before with liquid metal cement.
Grrrrrr

However I have a Dremal :)
