My current setup includes an Alan Magnetic mount antenna, works good enough but i'd like to do a sturdier, more permanent mount. Ive seen this same antenna is sold without the magnetic mount. Is there any way I can convert it to use a regular mount? (Whichever metallic mount may be)

Usually not. While I'm not familiar with that exact brand of magnetic mount, all the ones I've seen have the coax permanently mounted inside the magnetic base even if the whip and coil are removable. You'll be time and frustration ahead to just buy a new mount and antenna suitable for where you want to mount it.

Alan is the same as Midland basically, theyre sister companies. The whip is about 5-6 feet long and its removable. Ive seen the same antenna without a magnetic mount so that's what im asking. The antenna is not as powerful as others but it has plenty of power so it works, I just dont like the bulky mount on the hood!

I think some atennas screw down on the magnetic base but thats generally different from the stud mount base or other type mounting base....at least the ones I have are.

Mine does indeed screw down onto the base, the whole whip assembly isnt that much different from any other midland cb stainless whip antenna ive seen. I compared the screw from the regular mounts and the mag mount and they are different. But mine's not midland its an Alan, very much alike though.

I looked around to see if they sold the hardware for the antenna but no luck, all I find is the regular mount one but im not paying for another antenna if I have a perfectly good one anyway, so i guess ill stick to the mag mount until I find the proper way to permanently install it

I've not seen a fixed base mount that would allow you to do what you are asking....there may be one, I'v e just never seen it. I have a wilson 5000 magnetic base antenna that is great...but I had to go to a spring loaded fiberglass fixed mount antenna (different brand) because not a real good place to mount the magnetic base antenna that the trees did not interfer with. Got tired of screwing with antenna base 3-5 times on every trail ride we do. (low hanging branches, limbs...etc).

You could get an NMO mag mount, a 10 meter (ham radio) NMO and cut it down for 11 meters (CB).
