NFC (North Florida Cruiserheads) has a trip planned for Tellico over Thanksgiving...

Which means I have some work ahead of me. Got working on the sliders today and got one side done, one to go. I also got in my Dual Ultimate, 23 spline, Rotated for a flat belly, 200:1.

I am just getting started on a big list of things with little time to do it.

-Finish up the sliders
-lock and rebuild the front axle and install the Hi-Pinion diff
-Bend up front bumper and install Warn8000 winch
-Install DU cases and W56, along with a new crossmember
-New D-shafts & Trail shafts

Oooo there is going to be some late nights....

2.28/4.7 23 spline...

I love all mini's but the first gen 4x4 is by far my favorite. Id like to find an old one with some classic pin strips.

Thanksgiving... I think Wednesday thru Sunday...

Me? Do stuff under a deadline? Naahhhhh

I am sure as hell gonna give this a heck of a test run before I run up to Tellico again.

Dom and Wiener (Jon) said they might go. Get the rig off the trailer yet?

You could spoon.

Spooning is always an option:D

Just bring extra blankets, its an adventure remember...

So far this thread is about on Par for my normal threads...almost no tech:rolleyes::D

Alright back to some tech. I should be yanking the old tranny and t-case out next week.

This weekend with any luck have me finishing up the other slider.

I have to order a spool for the front. I have seen a few on ebay for a fraction of the price marlin has, But I am wondering in the quality is a fraction of that as well.

Finished up the sliders... Aside from that not much.

The chic that lives above me broke both her axles, R&P, Locker and carrier in her heep........On the street:princess:

I guess its a jeep thing and I would not understand...

In any case I got stuck helping her fix it...

Pulling the tranny and t-case this week though...

Nope.

I have not.

I could be wrong though, been wrong before will be wrong again. But, my 60 had Aussie lockers front a rear. For years of having the front locked I don't remember a time even when turning on flat ground of the front ratcheting. Which would be like having a spool. Steering was a mother before the ram assist went in and that was a heaavy rig.

Although I wont have ram assist for a little while on this truck I think I will be fine. Becuase the rear will be unlocked, making turning easier. Mace, Nolen, and some of the other hard core nuts swear that unlocking the rear will allow for tighter turns instead of unlocking the front which has been the belief forever. I think both RedBull rigs are set up like this as well. This allows your front to pull you around and the rear to follow instead of push you. But, heck I could be way off base.

On a positive note I got the whole jeep rear axle put back together last night which means I can get some work done on my rig.

I agree, unlocking the rear does help, but steering a spooled front end is the best upper body workout I've ever had. It's so bad I have my passenger get out and unlock the hubs just to turn(my passengers have to earn their ride :D ). Ram assist will be going on shortly and that will hopefully solve my problem.

al, the open rear theory is definitely right, the guys who actually do well in all the pro comps run their rear diffs open as much as possible, and only front wheel drive alot too
