If you only had a $ for every email of your plans you'd be rich! :D

well i would love to have made a little side business outta this but .. for me to make the lids is not hard at all.. and im sure i could turn a small profit.. but by the time you factor in the price of the finished lid and then to ship them all over north america the price would be too much for the average joe.. shipping would cost more than the lids.. so .. i got the ideas from this site in the first place . i am only too happy too share them with you guys...

Look into freight shipping. I've had several large but not heavy items shipped to me via freight for very reasonable cost. IIRC my 4x4 labs DIY kit came to me via regular FedEx (not freight, which may have been cheaper), and was only around $100 for shipping (granted not that far away from me)....

If you get in contact with your local FedEx rep they will usually set you up with some sort of a deal, even if you are low volume, and they will work with your special requirements.

While I don't have an M416, and my trailer already has a lid for it, I know that if I did have one I'd gladly pay a couple hundred (or perhaps even a bit more) for a lid. Think about how people don't hesitate to drop nearly a grand on sliders or bumpers..... :hhmm:

swampman,
You should be able to send an email to a gmail address just like any other email address, assuming it's a valid address.

That said, I've managed to avoid gmail myself up to this point. However, my university is converting its in-house email app to gmail for the fall semester. Guess I'll learn to diddle with it soon:rolleyes:

Lid fab

I'm in pa and will be camping in your area (niagra falls) if I was to send you the measurements of my trailer would you fab me one??

i could .. but the timing is bad ..im gone most of the summer now. and what spare time i have will be spent preparing my jeep for a trip to utah.. after sept i will have lots of time if you can wait.. what kinda trailer ? m101 ?

send me a pm and we could discuss it ..

that is actually better

I wont be able to go anywhere till after novermber anyway. Set something up for then? Its a homemade trailer that i purchased last week, the measurements arent like that of a military trailer. Is this still doable????

well my freind .. i always say anything is possible, we are only limited by our imaginations and money,, and money is usually the deciding factor.. send me your measurements.. (the trailer ) and we will see what we can do

Your trailer looks great. I´m just getting into this off road trailer game and frankly your looks the cleanest. If you aren´t tired of doing so already I´d really appreciate a copy of the plans for both your lid and the tailgate. jab20002@yahoo.com
Thanks,
John

Wow Swampman, look what youve started! This is like a verifiable m101 CDN registry here...

And along those lines, I'd sure welcome a set of plans for a lid like yours; tailgate and fenders too if available.

Thank you very much— a great example of giving back to the community. Hope to pay it forward myself one day.
