I purchased a used m10000 in good shape I stripped it down repainted and regressed everything. Free spoil worked at disassembly.

When reassembling the case on the gear side if I leave the screws loose the freespool and clutch engagement is perfect. But when I tighten the screws down the freespool binds and it feels like gears are locked up.

What has been tried so far:
- removed all burrs from clutch ring gear and case
- ensures I have not over greased
- tried clocking to multiple directions
-ensured I tighten even around the case
- loosened support rods to make sure cases aren’t misaligned.

Not sure where to go with this short of making the 70 miles drive to the nearest warn repair center.

Would appreciate any other suggestions.

Andy,

Thanks for chiming in.

I took it in to one of your authorized repair shops, Tri County Gear in Pomona, they took care of it for me. There was an issue with how the handle was seated causing some binding. Winch is back in business now.
