Lytton ferry permanently shut down

Just found out that the Lytton ferry will have its last sailing June 30th, 2015. The government has cut funding to it. No idea if there is going to be a review or if they will reconsider. Also no idea yet if this will also affect the Big Bar ferry.
Plan your trips accordingly.

Wow really. I dont think they even knew. We just did the loop on the bikes and had a chat with the boys about when they figured they would be shutting down because of high water. They're answer was probably a month earlier than ever , plan your trips accordingly.

As crappy as that is, coming from a coastal community that depends on ferries we have to pay to use because there is no other alternative, boo fxxxing hoo.

We should all pay more tax to reduce fares and increase sailings whilst re-instating the Lytton ferry in perpetuity. In fact, we could install a cafeteria on the Lytton ferry with about 100 full time unionized positions to operate it as well! Hot Damn!

Or at least widen the railroad bridge walkway so you dont have take your motor bike handle bars off to cross.

Tell a logging company there are trees on the other side, have a new one lane bailey bridge built in 3 days.....no toll.
